II. Preparation of SD card or USB stick

Usually you can use an SD card for the installation of the speedcam data.
With some devices you can also or only use a USB stick. When in doubt, please try both options.

  1. Connect the SD card or the USB stick to your computer.

  2. Please reformat the SD card or the USB stick to FAT32 (not: FAT or exFAT).
Do not use the quick format.
Please make sure that the storage device has the required format and that it's empty at the beginning of the installation.

IV. Saving speedcam data on navigation device

  1. Insert the SD card (or the USB stick) into the navigation.
    Turn on the ignition.
The SD card slot is located either directly on the device or on the navigation computer in the glove box.

  2. At the bottom of the screen, please press Setup > Manage storage > Update my POIs (SD/USB).
Confirm the following steps on the screen until the software update is finished.

V. Activation of warnings

  1. Open the map settings: button NAV > Setup > Map.
Place a checkmark for Show POI.

Go to Choose categories for POIs.
Place a checkmark for SCDB_Ampel (en: Redlight) and SCDB_Blitzer (en: Speed).

  2. Go one level back in the settings to Setup > navigation alerts.
Place a checkmark for Note: My POI.

Here is where you can adjust the General volume. Unfortunately, a separate setting for the alert volume of POIs is impossible.

  3. The speedcam spots will now be shown with a respective symbol on the map.
Before you reach the speedcam, you'll hear an acoustic signal.
The display and the acoustic signal are determined by the navigation software. We cannot influence it with our SCDB file.

VI. Update of speedcamera data

If you want to update the speedcam data at a later point in time, the procedure is the same as for a fresh installation. Please repeat all steps from this installation guide. We recommend to update the data once a month to drive safely.
