Hi there.

Are you a native speaker? Would you be willing to help us?
We are very appreciative of translations or pictures/screenshots to help optimize our installation guide. Or any other advice.
Please don't hesitate to write us an email: info@scdb.info. Thanks in advance.

1 Free sample file

The free sample file allows you to test if POI lists can be installed on your navigation device.

    Download sample file

Install sample file according to this installation guide.
Afterwards choose one of the following cities and check if the respective speed cameras are shown.

Hamburg (GER): Camera ID 98913 and Camera ID 100575
Berlin (GER): Camera ID 107298 and Camera ID 16579
Frankfurt on the Main (GER): Camera ID 115782 and Camera ID 64866
Munich (GER): Camera ID 272 and Camera ID 735
Vienna (A): Camera ID 1800 and Camera ID 29279
Zürich (CH): Camera ID 64070 and Camera ID 113997

Try before purchase. Refund excluded after download started of full database.

2 Important notes

  1. No support for SEAT Navi System (6PO) built in SEAT Leon (MY2019) and SEAT Ateca (MY 2019).
You cannot install POIs into this device.

  2. In some devices speed cameras can only be installed with SD card, others only with USB stick.
    Please try always both possibilities!

  3. Try different SD cards. SD and SDHC are not always the same.

  4. Most devices have 2 SD slots.
Usually SD slot 1 is for the original SD card with maps. Does not make any changes on this SD card!
Use SD slot 2 for your own SD card with speed cameras.
You can also exchange SD cards with each other.

SD slot 2 is hidden in some vehicles (e.g. Skoda Fabia, MJ 2018, Amundsen MIB2). It's behind the glove compartment. In this case you have to remove the glove compartment temporary. Installation with USB stick was unsuccessful. The glove compartment is fixed with 6 screws (3 on top, 1 in the back of the compartment, 2 below, see red arrows).

    Recommendation:
Insert SD card 1 with map data in SD slot 2. That allows you to install speed cameras easier by using always SD slot 1. Then fix the glove compartment again.

3 Prepare SD card or USB stick

In some devices speed cameras can only be installed with SD card, others only with USB stick.
Please try always both possibilities!

  1. Connect your own SD card* or USB stick to your computer.
*Do not use original SD card of the device!

  2. Reformat SD card and USB stick to FAT32 (not: FAT or exFAT).
    Do not use quick format.
Make sure that the storage device has the required format and that it's empty at the beginning of the installation.

4 Download speed camera data

  1. Go to product page for Volkswagen / SEAT / Skoda.
    Press button Download.

  2. Save file volkswagen.zip on your hard disc.

Note: In most cases, the file is saved directly to the download folder of the computer. Depending on your browser settings, sometimes you can choose the save location by yourself.

Using the Chrome Browser, select "Show in folder" in order to get to the save location.

  3. Unpack the zip file. You get the folder volkswagen.

Unpacking on a Windows computer: right-klick on the zip file > Extract all...
Unpacking on a Mac Computer: double-klick on the zip file.

  4. Open the folder volkswagen.
    It contains 2 subfolders.
Choose now whether you want to install feste und mobile Blitzer (fixed and mobile speedcams) or nur feste Blitzer (fixed speedcams only).

  5. Open the folder feste und mobile Blitzer (or nur feste Blitzer).
    It contains 2 subfolders (alternatives): SD-Karte 1 and SD-Karte 2.

Alternative 1: Use files from folder SD-Karte 1 for:
    VW Discover Media (MIB2)
    VW Discover Media (2. Generation)
    VW Discover Media (Gen2)
    VW Discover Media 2015
    VW Discover Media Plus
    VW Discover Media (MIB3)
    VW Discover Media (MIB2.5)
    VW Discover Media 2017
    SEAT Navi System (5FO)
    SEAT Navi System (6PO)
    Skoda Amundsen (MIB2)

Alternative 2: Use files from folder SD-Karte 2 for:
    VW Discover PRO (Gen. 2)
    VW Discover PRO 2017
    SEAT Navi System 2017
    SEAT Navi System 2018
    SEAT Navi System Plus
    SEAT Navi System Plus 2017
    Skoda Amundsen 2017
    Skoda Columbus 2
    Skoda Columbus 2017

When in doubt, please try both possibilities.

  6. Open the folder SD-Karte 1.
Copy folder PersonalPOI and file metainfo2 to prepared SD card or USB stick.

    or

    Open folder SD-Karte 2.
Copy folder PersonalPOI and file metainfo2 to prepared SD card or USB stick.

  7. Remove SD card or USB stick from the computer.

5 Install speedcam data on navigation device

  1. Insert SD card or USB stick into the navigation device.

SD and USB slots are located either directly on the device or on the navigation computer in the glove compartment.
Mosty there are 2 SD slots. In some vehicles the 2nd SD slot is hidden behind the glove compartment (see above, according to chapter 2: Important notes).

  2. Turn on the ignition.
If Error 136: Turn on the engine as well (because the battery voltage is too low).

  3. Press on screen Settings > Manage memory > Update MyPOIs (SD/USB).
Confirm the following steps on the screen until the software update is finished.

6 Activate warnings

  1. Click NAV key.
    Go to Settings > Map.
Place a checkmark for Show POI.

Go to Select categories for POIs.
Place a checkmark for SCDB_Ampel (engl.: Redlight) and SCDB_Tempo (engl.: Speed).

  2. Go one level back to Settings > Nav. announcements.
Place a checkmark for Note: My POI.
Here is where you can adjust the general volume. Separate settings for alert volume for POIs are not available.

Note: The volume for announcements and warning sounds are interrelated. Do not mute the volume for announcements. Otherwise speedcam alerts will also be muted. Increase the volume for announcements if alert sound is too quiet.

  3. Speedcam spots will be shown with a respective symbol on the map.
    Acoustic signal comes before approaching.
The display and the acoustic signal are determined by the navigation software. We cannot influence it with our SCDB file.

7 Update speed camera data

Repeat all steps of the guide above to update speed cameras in your device.
We recommend to update the data once a month to drive safely.

8 Remove speed camera data

Go to menu Settings > Manage memory > Delete user data.
Note: The menu item is greyed out if there are no myPOIs in the memory.
