1 Free sample file

The free sample file for Europe allows you to test if POIs can be installed on your navigation device.
Install sample file according to this installation guide.
The sample file has data from 2014. It does not cover all speed cameras. Do not use it for a safe trip!

    Download sample file

Try before purchase. Refund excluded after download started of full database.

2 Download speed camera data

  1. Go to our productpage for ZENEC.
We offer only data of fixed speed cameras.
    Click button Download.

  2. Make your decision on the download page.
Use preselection on the left or country list on the right.
Press CTRL key for multiple choice.

  3. There is only one option in step 2.
Get the database as one file.

  4. Click button Download Now.
Save file zenec.zip on your hard disc.

Note: In most cases, the file is saved directly to the download folder of the computer.
Depending on your browser settings, sometimes you can choose the save location by yourself.

  5. Unpack the zip file.
Unpacking on a Windows computer: right-klick on the zip file > Extract all...
Unpacking on a Mac Computer: double-klick on the zip file.

  6. You get the file Speedcam.txt through unpacking.

3 Installation of speed camera data

  1. ZENEC devices are based on iGO navigation software. But the installation procedure may be different.
Try one of these two methods:

Choose Installation method 1 if the navigation software is stored on SD card.
This method should be suitable for most devices.

Choose Installation method 2 if the navigation software is not stored on SD card.
In this case you may have to use the synctool from naviextras.com to prepare an USB flash drive or SD card. The need depends on the device.

3.1 Installation method 1 (navigation software stored on SD card)

    e.g. for
    ZENEC Z-E 2026
    ZENEC Z-E 3726
    ZENEC Z-E 3766
    ZENEC Z-N 626
    ZENEC Z-N 720
    ZENEC Z-N 956
    ZENEC ZE-NC 2011D

  1. Remove the SD card from the ZENEC device.

  2. Connect the SD card to the computer.

  3. Open Windows Explorer (Mac: Finder).
Go to SD card directory ... > content > speedcam.
Delete all files inside of the folder speedcam.
Copy and paste the unzipped file Speedcam.txt into the folder speedcam.
Note: Create folder speedcam by yourself if it doesn't exist.

  4. Safely remove the SD card from the computer.

  5. Connect the SD card to the ZENEC device.

  6. Power on the ignition.
The boot process may now take a little longer, as the speed camera data is imported into the software.

  7. Remove the SD card from the ZENEC device.

  8. Connect again the SD card to the computer.

  9. Open the directory ... > content > speedcam.
Now there should be 3 files inside:
    Speedcam.txt
    speedcam.spdb
    SpeedcamUpdates.spud

  10. Check the file sizes.
There has to be no file with file size of 0 KB!

Solve the issue as following if the file SpeedcamUpdates.spud has a file size of 0 KB:
    a) Make a copy of the file speedcam.spdb.
    b) Delete the file SpeedcamUpdates.spud.
    c) Rename the copied file into SpeedcamUpdates.spud.

It never should look like that:

  11. Safely remove the SD card from the computer.

  12. Connect the SD card to the ZENEC device.

  13. Make sure that the device gets a real GPS signal.
Your vehicle should be outdoors. Probably, you will not find real GPS signal if your vehicle is in the garage.

  14. Check all preferences in the device to enabling speed camera alerts.
Go to Settings > Sound and Warning > Alerts > Alert Point Settings (Einstellungen > Audio & Warnungen > Warnpunkte > Warnung bei Warnpunkten).

Note 1: The wording of the menu may be different (depending on installed software version).
In most cases real GPS signal is required to find the menu for enable warnings.

Note 2: The category for mobile speedcams is not supported by our database. You can only download fixed speedcams from our website.

Note 3: The iGO software manages all acoustic and visual alerts. We have no influence on acoustic or visual alerts. Our database is just a POI file.
In most devices you have to choose a TTS speech for acoustic alerts. TTS speeches tells you street names and other notifications.

Note 4: Your navigation device is based on iGO software from the manufacturer NNG. In some versions of iGO, the manufacturer blocks the display of speed camera data in individual countries. This can be Switzerland, France and border regions.

  15. Look for speed cameras on the map. And take a real test drive.
Note: It will not work if you are only simulating a route.

3.2 Installation method 2 (navigation software not stored on SD card)

    e.g. for

  1. Reformat an USB flash drive as FAT32 (not: FAT/FAT16 or exFAT).
Do not use the quick format.

  2. Visit naviextras.com website.

  3. Double-click the file synctool_download.exe.
    Click Install (Ausführen).

    Choose the USB flash drive.

Now you find the folder C9_SW_Update on the USB flash drive.

  4. Connect the USB flash drive to the ZENEC device.

  5. The device starts up with a menu of naviextras.com (synctool).

This step may takes some minutes (nearly 50 minutes if you have mas for Europe).
Click Quit to finish the synctol.

  6. Remove the USB flash drive from the ZENEC device.

  7. Connect the USB flash drive to the computer.
