I. Installation guide for Route66 Chicago series

  1. Please log in to SCDB.info and go to the Downloadcenter. Before starting the download you have to select your desired countries and choose one of the possible options for images (we recommend: split into all categories). After that push Download button and save the file route66.zip to your hard disk.

  2. Please unzip the overlay with a suitable program - we recommend WINZIP - to a target folder of your choice in your computer. In our example, we selected the folder "C:/temp/route66".

  3. Before starting the installation, please check if your computer works with a current version of Microsoft ActiveSync. Otherwise load Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 - English for free and install the software on your computer.

  4. Switch on your navigation system and connect it to the computer over the USB cable.

  5. Then Microsoft ActiveSync will start automatically. Please select a guest-partnership connection via Microsoft ActiveSync, otherwise you are unable to install the speed camera database.

  6. Copy all unzipped *.bmp and *.csv files into the folder POIS/Europe in your sat nav. (Note: The folder Europe exists only in Chicago 8000 and 9000 devices. Maybe this folder has another name in Chicago 6000 and 7000 devices.)

Advice: Delete all other *.bmp or *.csv files before you start to copy our files into this folder. Otherwise it's possible that the alert appears twice for the same location.

  7. Now, all speed cameras are installed in your sat nav.

  8. Now disconnect the navigation system with the computer and restart the navigation. Go to Custom POIs in the main menu.

  9. In the following menu please enable POI alert and activate all speed camera categories.

  10. Confirm your choice with OK and select the type of alert.

  11. Select the distance for alerts (we recommend: 500m) and audio alert. Please do not activate "Warn only if POI is on route"!
